Does Child support really work?

If you spend your child support on something other what your child needs does this make you a bad parent. Could it be that with court ordered support is for that child's portion of the bills and their needs not being giving freely by the other parent and if your paying support through state funded programs should you not give your child more if they need it?

No, you are not a bad parent if you spend child support on other things other than your child needs. I get child support for one of my children, and yes, sometimes i do spend the money on things other than things he needs. Not stupid things. I work full time. I get paid twice a month, child support only comes once a month, if it comes at all. I spend 80% of my hard earned money on my kids, shoes, clothes, haircuts EVERY TWO WEEKS, the schools need money EVERYWEEK, for something, grocery EVERYWEEK, car maitanence, gas, etc. So when that lousy check comes every month, or when it comes, yes, I have deserved to spend it on other things, because they send 25% of what they earned in a month, and i have spent 80% of what i have earned in a month. So who really is on child support?
